Call For Art

CultureWorks Institute for Creative Arts gallery is accepting submissions for our 2012-2013 exhibition rotation. We will review work in any medium. Currently, we do not have projectors for video work, so video artists would need to supply that equipment. All artwork submitted is reviewed by our curatorial panel, and decisions are based on quality, and appropriateness for the learning environment. We give preference to work dealing with contemporary, culturally relevant themes and ideas. Submissions will be kept on file to be considered for upcoming exhibition opportunities.

Submission Guidelines:

Please send

  • resume,
  • current artist statement, or one specific to the body of work you are submitting
  • image list with dimensions (including framing), media, year completed, and any special installation needs.

to info@cultureworksica.com.  Format your information in PDF or .doc-submissions.  Include your name, address, email, website and phone number on all of your submission information.  If you prefer to mail your packet with a clearly labeled CD of images, please send to:

If your work is being considered, we will email you a few forms, and notify you as soon as selections have been made. Please do not call the gallery. Upon selection, it is the responsibility of the artist to deliver or ship the work to and from the gallery.

Exhibitions generally span three to four weeks. CultureWorks is a non-profit organization and we operate our gallery as a service. We do not charge fees or receive a commission on the sale of any work-all proceeds go directly to the artist. We promote our exhibitions in conjunction with our programming, but artists are encouraged to market their show as well. We ask that artists use the CultureWorks logo on their printed promotional materials. Receptions are held for special events related to our programming but not for individual exhibitions unless arrangements are made prior to installation.
